FloorworX No. 71 is a solvent-based contact adhesive specially developed to meet the flooring contractor’s need for a high performance, multi- purpose contact adhesive.

Note: Highly flammable and must not be used near naked flames or sparks. Work areas must be well ventilated at all times.

Application

Concrete, granolithic and wooden surfaces must be sound, clean, smooth, level and completely dry. The surface must also be free of grease, wax or any other contaminant. All sub-floors in contact with the ground must incorporate a reliable Damp Proof System. Should Pavelite be used to repair or improve sub-floors, FloorworX No. 33 Bonding Liquid MUST be added to the mix.

If the surface is painted, test a small area to ensure that no adverse reaction or blistering occurs. Excessively porous or dusty surfaces must be primed using a suitable primer. Allow the primed surface approximately 24 hours to dry prior to the application of adhesive.

Apply a thin, even coating of adhesive to both surfaces to be bonded using a flat trowel, brush or paint roller. Allow sufficient time for the solvent to flash off completely before bonding the two surfaces together. Bonding will occur as the two surfaces come into contact with each other, so care must be taken to ensure that the materials are correctly aligned before pressure is applied. Work from one side to the other to prevent the formation of air pockets. Apply firm, even pressure to the bonded areas to ensure that the maximum bond strength is developed.

• Do not lay flooring onto screeds having a temperature of less than 12ºC

• Ensure adequate ventilation of work area at all times
