Changing the face of decking

In the past, attaching outdoor wooden decking, composite or PVC deck boards directly to a substructure would always be a bit of a gamble in terms of the aesthetics that you could expect. Today, DIY enthusiasts and contractors can expect a beautiful, fastener-free deck surface thanks to the CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System.

Not only is the fastening system easy to use and affordable, but it’s also versatile. The patented system includes proprietary deck screws, Marksman tools and Driver Bits. The system allows you to achieve a distinctive side-angle entry that secures solid or grooved deck boards directly to the joist, reducing board movement and allowing the screws to be hidden.

Each part of the CAMO system is unique, but the true innovation in the system is the screw, which meets or exceeds Class 4 AS2331 and AS3566 standards. As the screw penetrates the material, zero splitting occurs thanks to the reverse rake tip that removes the material as it bores. This technology also provides a large amount of holding power, ensuring the durability of the final product.

If a board needs to be replaced, the screws back out easily. The reverse rake tip also means that you won’t have to invest in any pre-drilling, saving you time and hassle. An added benefit of the system is that no spacers are required either, thanks to the Marksman tools that position the deck screws to penetrate the board with 4.7mm spacing automatically.

CAMO deck screws are available in 48mm and 60mm lengths, and in ProTech coated and 316 Stainless Steel, both ACQ compatible. A Limited Lifetime Warranty guarantees against rust and corrosion for the life of the project.

About the tools

The contractor-grade, heavy-duty tools available are called the Marksman Pro* and Marksman Pro-NB. They feature a clamping mechanism to grip the deck board, and dual screw guides that enable both sides of the board to be fastened with single tool placement. The Marksman Pro fits any deck boards measuring 127mm-147mm wide and 19mm-38mm high, while the Marksman Pro-NB is designed for narrow deck boards measuring 80mm-123mm wide and 19mm-38mm high. CAMO Driver Bits are engineered specifically for use with the CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System. The built-in shoulder sets automatic depth of drive for maximum holding power, and prevents over-driving the screw.
